David Rowlands is a leading Australian informatician with 30 years’ experience in health. He is author of “A Practitioner’s Guide to Health Informatics in Australia”, the lead developer of the Certified Health Informatician Australasia (CHIA) program, and lead developer of “Assuring Patient Safety in Relation to E-Health Systems and Applications: Professional Practice Guidelines” (publication imminent).
David specialises in the development of online training courses in health informatics. He has previously held senior executive positions in clinical informatics, health service management, health service strategy and planning, and corporate services. He formerly chaired the Health Informatics Society of Australia, Standards Australia’s Health Informatics Technical Committee, and HL7 Australia, and been a director of aged care and child health service delivery agencies.
David has chaired two international working groups on electronic health records, advised on the development of national information infrastructures in Australia and Singapore, and is well known internationally for his health informatics expertise.

With a background as an occupational therapist, Louise has a PhD in technology acceptance among health professionals, is a graduate of Stanford’s Executive Leadership Program, a Certified Health Informatician and a Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow. Louise has delivered over 100 conference presentations, has written for academic and industry publications and text books, is host of the Dissecting Digital Health podcast and she is always online.
Bruce Hughes specialises in helping people to give presentation which are more engaging, confident and clear. He has coached thousands of people with all levels of experience including senior executives, government leaders, heads of departments, judicial officers, television presenters and elite athletes. A professional actor for many years, Bruce has conducted workshops and worked with individuals to clarify their ideas and communicate them in a way that enhances understanding and stays in the mind of their audience.
Margaret Mills specializes in helping people communicate clearly, empathically and confidently in their working environments. She has worked with groups and individuals from the shop floor to senior executive level, in private and public sectors. Margaret’s previous experience as an actor includes award winning performances in the major theatre companies of Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, as well as Australian TV credits.
